JOB SUMMARY
- Wentworth Property Company is seeking to hire an Asset Management Associate in its Dallas, TX office. Candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Real Estate and have strong analytical skills, advanced comprehension of Excel, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and time management ability. Responsibilities include financial/operational analysis; preparation of investment packages and operational update packages; preparation and implementation of budgets pertaining to capital expenditures and property renovations; providing general analytical support to the team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide asset management support on a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate investments
- Prepare/review operating and capital expenditure budgets
- Analyze performance of operating properties in comparison to budget
- Prepare investment packages and operational update packages and work with the asset management team to regularly communicate property performance updates
- Work closely with acquisitions and accounting teams to develop and implement value-add strategies for properties
- Collaborate with third-party management to onboard properties as they are acquired and optimize performance across the operating portfolio
- Negotiate lease renewals
- Assist with financial due diligence and closing process
- Perform market research
- Perform other duties, as assigned
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Real Estate
- One to two years of related commercial real estate experience
KEY COMPETENCIES
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize assignments to meet numerous deadlines
- Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex financial information and transactions
