Job Summary:

The Development Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the planning, evaluation, and execution of self-storage projects. This position involves coordinating various aspects of the development process, including market research, financial analysis, project management, and stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for real estate development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Market Research & Analysis:

  • Analyze demographic, economic, and real estate market trends.
  • Assist in the preparation of feasibility studies and market reports.

 

Financial Analysis:

  • Prepare financial models to evaluate project viability and profitability.
  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Support in securing project financing.
  • Ability to communicate with Partners and Lenders.

 

Project Management:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of development projects from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure alignment with objectives.

 

Due Diligence:

  • Conduct site evaluations and due diligence activities.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals from regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with zoning, environmental, and other legal requirements.

 

 Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present project updates to senior management and investors.
  • Handle inquiries and provide timely responses to stakeholders.

 

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of project documents, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Prepare regular reports on project status, including financial performance and risk assessments.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and marketing materials.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, Urban Planning, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial real estate development, investment, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis. – Experience in construction or design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with real estate development software (e.g., Argus).
  • Knowledge of local real estate markets and regulatory environments.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CCIM, PMP) are a plus.

 

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require minimal travel to project sites.
  • Typical office environment.
